Nutrition

One of the problems facing students is lack of adequate daily nutrition. Some children come to school without having had even breakfast - a common story across Africa. This has a huge impact on the student's capacity to concentrate in class and subsquently their academic potential .

Epap is a fortified maize meal that contains all the vitamins and minerals that growing bodies and brains need. You simply add a few spoons to an existing meal or make a meal of it separately and it doesn't need any complicated preparation. Our aim is to give everybody an epap meal at the start of everyday. For 66 Rand (aprox US$8) /child/month we can meet the daily nutritional needs of our students.

A fabulous initiative as nutrition is such an important part of making learning, the key to moving from poverty to sustainability, so much more possible.
